Senigallia is a lovely town on
the Adriatic coast, in the centre of the Italian
peninsula. With its
15 km of velvet sandy beaches, it is one of
the most famous and prestigious seaside resorts of the
Adriatic coast.
Its
territory is mostly flat but it is surrounded by hills,
while the historic centre reveals the Roman urban structure.
The river Misa divides the town into two sections and flows
into the harbour with an artificial canal. The
town also includes some clusterings around the Misa river as
it winds inland.
Not far from the coast, on the
Misa's east bank there are the railway station, the tourist
information centre, shops, services and the town's historic
centre.
Senigallia also offers many sport
facilities and you can practice several activities on or along
the beach, such as swimming, walking, surfing, fishing and
volleyball.
